A magazine? a fast-food Meal? Three quarters of a gallon of petrol?
one day of council tax ? or maybe
ten days of BT phone line rental?
How about something thats lasts a full 12months, comes with three magazines and something that you can't put a value on - friendship!
The BCC's Membership fee is currently just £5.00 and its been this way since 2008 !
Thanks to our treasurer and donations from the areas the BCC are in a very favorable situation at present with respect to finance so there is NO indication that in the near future the membership fees of the BCC will have to be increased. When you look at all the section membership fees we the BCC have the lowest so what better value for money is there than the £5.00 you pay for BCC membership.
The BCC however is short of one special item. Members! Our membership has been on the decrease, as with other organizations, for many years now even though the National Council of the section has been trying several initiatives to bring in new members. The offer of free membership to new members joining up to the renewal of their C&CC membership, is one item that has been put in place to recruit new members. This has been fairly successful and very few of these members have left the BCC once they have joined. The new recruitment incentive which was initiated last year is very successful and many members have benefited from the scheme.
This year a new initiative has been proposed by the management committee, to give something back to members and encourage them to attend the FOL. Every one who has pre booked for the FOL this year will, on arriving and booking in, receive a £10 note to spend as you wish.
You could think of it this way .. you pay a £5 a year for everything that the BCC offers, and you could earn £10 back?
We're actually paying you to be a member!

After some 10 years of running and organising the North Wales THS at Llanrwst during May/June of each year for the North Wales Area, BCC Councillor and ex-area chairman, Tommy Knowles, along with Meryl, must bow out of this years meet due to poor health. Tommy has been a stalwart of the club and loved running this THS which. over the years, has become very popular indeed. Pauline and I have been his assistant stewards for the past 3 years or so but friends for many more and will be running it this year with help from some committee, and area members, but will miss Tommy's cheerful face and helpful ways as well as Meryl's organising and bookkeeping skills.
Hopefully, Tommy's brother, Arthur will bring him and Meryl to visit us during the meet so they can catch up with some of the good friends they have made over the years and, as for us, well we'll try our best to carry on the excellent service provided to members in the past and also look forward to catching up with visitors old and new. I am sure everyone will join in with Pauline and I in wishing Tommy better health in the future and thanking them both for being good friends.
Hope to see you on the Bodnant rally field, Harry Pleavin and Pauline.
Below is a picture of, from left to right, Tommy, Harry, Meryl and Pauline and one of Tom and Meryl walking the field, both from last years meet.

15th October 2012
At the AGM it was decided that we shall introduce a new incentive scheme that all current members can take advantage of to try and attract more new members into the BCC.
For every FIVE new members that any existing member is able to recruit in a single year, the club will send you £5.00 effectively refunding your annual membership fee. The more you recruit the more you earn, 10 members = £10 , 30 members = £30 !
This scheme runs from 1st of April to 31st March each year, at the end of which the membership secretary will be able to ascertain who is "Recruiter of the Year".
The prize for this achievement will be a voucher for FREE admission for two members to attend the relevant BCC Feast Of Lanterns meet later the same year, which will be worth around £50 or maybe more !!
So if you were to recruit ten new members throughout the year, and as a result also won the 'Recruiter of the Year' award, you would receive £10 plus the voucher, and this could total up to nearly £70. Not a bad incentive I'm sure you'll agree!
So now its up to you. You can gain, the club can gain, we all guarantee the future of the BCC for future generations.
On the membership form you will notice a line which says INTRODUCED BY , remember to complete this, and include your membership number, so that the membership sectretary can send you your rewards!
Also: Remember that new members wont pay a penny to join the BCC until their C&CC membership is due for renewal.

If you are planning on going to the FOL and have not yet submitted your booking please do so asap as we are expecting an increase in bookings following the cancellation of the NFOL. We are trying to get more land but this is still to be confirmed.
However the closing date for last minute booking has been pushed out to the 4th August 2012 to allow those of you who have missed out on the NFOL a chance to join the BCC in Norfolk for a fantastic weekend.
We also welcome those not wanting to book, but would rather just turn up on the day, but you'll probably get a better pitch if we know you're coming!!
Please contact Roy Bunclark, Norfolk BCC for further information.
